I fought against those cuts and offered amendments to protect Medicaid and rural health care, but Republicans blocked them.<\/p><p>I'm also working to strengthen rural hospitals by addressing some of the services most at risk of disappearing. With growth comes the concern of the town infrastructure, and making sure our roads, fire, EMS, water and sewer systems have the capacity to handle the growth.<\/p><p>Affordable housing is not just a local problem, it is nationwide. Locally we can look at our current zoning ordinances to ensure they are aligned with the Comprehensive Plan to allow additional housing options. <\/p><p>Lastly is economic development and growth. I am looking to create a Business Retention Program to support our local businesses, and establish relationships with property management companies and retailers to encourage businesses to consider Warrenton to do business.
